Thread: I still have problems with reACT and need your help, guys

Yo guys.

I got CFW kmeaw 3.55 and have never been online cause I was not man enough to try it.
(My fear was that Sony might rape my *** forcefully and unfairly.)

Anyway, today I installed reACT 2.1.
The good news:
A dynamic theme (some purple lightning) works now.
The bad news, neither Lara Croft and the guardian of angels nor Rush Hour Anarchy work.
They always tell me to go to the store.

Something I realized:
When I want to sign in into my reACT account (the one that you have to rename to aa), I get an error message (in the right upper corner.)
I can still enter the account and work normally, but there is that message that appears for some seconds.
Is that normal?

I still have not understood why some people say to press the O button when I run reACT.
Ok, it takes longer until the PS3 gets rebooted but I have no idea what is happening.

I really need your help here and if you need some further details just tell me and I will write it as clearly as possible.

pressing O just backs up your activation files. (no need to do it, you haven't been online)
the error is normal
run reActPSN from your account after changing the name of the other one.
make sure you changed the vsh.self with the modded one.

First of all the error message is nothing big I get that too.
You have to press O only when you install reactpsn2.0 to patch the vsh files, not more only one time. To activate the content you need only the rap files, copy them to the edat folder log in as "aa", insert usb flash disc, run reactpsn and if you have the matching rap files with the installed content it will work (this was for reactpsn2.0). I never had a problem with activating content.

You probably knew most of this but I wanted to be sure.

Okay, I'll have to ask some more things.

I have 3 accounts on my PS3.
Let's name them account 1, account 2 and account 3.
Account 1 is the one I use and account 3 is the one for reACT.
(Currently account 3 is named reActPSN v2.0 9rif 7edat.)

So now I'm a bit confused:
Do I have to be logged into account 3 when I activate reactpsn?
I thought it was enough to rename it to aa, to log out, to log in into account 1 and activate reactpsn.

When I run Multiman and go to /dev_hdd0_home, the first two folders (00..1 00..2 - account 1 and account 2) do not have an exdata folder.
The 3rd one (00..4 - the react one) has an exdata folder and a lot of files.
act.dat, act.key, and many edat and rif files (I guess 9 rifs and 7 edats because of the name of the account).
And /dev_hdd0_home contains a file named reActSys.key.
This all is okay so far?

Strangely, when I login with account 3, it tells me "This content has a time limit." (Error code 80010601).
I guess the account 3 is not made to play.

Damn, I even tried out the vsh.self auto patch v1.00.

only use account 3 to change the name. do everything else from your main account
exdata (the activation files which came with your PSN content) go in a folder called exdata on the root of your external drive (plugged into the furthest right slot)

Yes, I know that with the USB drive but I meant when they get copied (by reAct) from USB to the PS3, they are only in account 3, not in account 1 or 2.
This is also okay?

it shouldn't matter. an you don't need to back up any of your files with it unless you have purchased content you want to share.
that's why they were only in 3 (you said you were not online, unless I'm mistaken)

Being that the dynamic theme works and is not showing up as corrupted data means you did everything right. As for the games saying to log in to the store, mine did the same thing and the way I fixed it was by changing the system date on the PS3 to the current date (Sounds weird I know but it worked for me). Try that out and let me know how it goes.

that is okay since dlc and psn can be used by any profile on the system. u only need to install the pkg first if u don't have an edat or rap. if u have an edat or rap, just load reactpsn and don't push any buttons; if u don't have one of those license files, u'll need to install the game, load reactpsn, and hold down circle for six seconds while it scans ur games.

Ok, I've tried out many things.

Today I tried to install and use these three things:
Dynamic theme blue lagoon, dynamic theme aquarium, mini game angry birds (because of its small file size - wasn't horny for that game. lol).

For me there was only one way to get them work:
I installed reAct 2.10, started it and held down the circle button for about six seconds.
I did not even rename the account 3 to aa nor entered it.
I was just in account 1 and started react 2.1
The PS3 got rebooted and the react 2.1 symbol said:

reActPSN 2.10
Last made 1edat
Fix 0PS1 1PSP 2THEME
Chinese symbol 1edatChinese symbol
Chinese symbol0PS1 1PSP 2Chinese symbol

Angry Birds also told me to go to the store, but after running react psn 2.1 and holding down circle it finally worked.

Anything else (running react 2.0, renaming account 3 to aa etc etc.) did not work.
The themes were shown as corrupt data and angry birds told me to go to the store - as mentioned.

I'll check out Lara Croft and Anarchy Rush Hour again....
