Question about E3 flasher firmware installs
not sure if this should go in chat or help, so mods, please advise.
I have my friends slim 4.00 system that he wants downgraded to run true blue. Ive heard that after the downgrade via E3 flasher, there is no need to change firmwares cuz E3 has their own cfw. I've also heard elsewhere that if you try to change firmwares after an E3 flash, it has to be done once again using the E3 or it can risk a brick. so basically, i downgrade to their E3 3.55cfw and once there if i choose to go to kmeaw or TB cfw via normal system update or restore menu, then i can brick. if i want to go to kmeaw or TB i have to once again use the E3 flasher to flash to another firmware. i know it all sounds confusing, and its making my head spin, but does anyone know if theres any truth to this? i would think that once I'm on a cfw (theirs or any other) i could just jump to another whenever i wanted. i personally have a launch fat model and have went from kmeaw, to rebug, to cobra, back to rebug, and now on rebug TBE. all installed on top of each other with no problems.
maybe its just THEIR cfw that has to be flashed to and from the E3 flasher? maybe once its on kmeaw or whatever else it will be just as any other system and will no longer need the flasher? any ideas people?

either flash your console with E3's TBJB2CFW (has check disabled)
E3_TBJB2CFW_CHECKOFF.rar password ILOVEE3
or install e3s rogero and then install trueblues 3.55 CFW - v2 (has check off too)

whatever cfw you are using needs to have lv1 checkoff or you brick

thanks for the input. i installed E3's TBJB2CFW and it work great after the downgrade. however, assuming my buddy wants to go to rebug TBE like i have or even to regular rebug or kmeaw (for whatever reason if he decides that dongles aren't for him) is it possible? do you happen to know which compatible cfw's have lv1 checkoff? and for whatever ones have it, can they be installed over the current firmwares or do you have to do the whole restore nor, factory mode, etc all over?

from what i understand after youre above 3.56 that firmware is written to your syscon, and the lv1 nocheck skips that check to install your cfw if you try to install anything lower then your fw on that you will brick. and its not possible to change that
(you are supposedly able to downgrade to 3.41 by QA flagging, and that will change your syscon, and then you can use any 3.55 cfw but then you can never leave the qa flag or you brick.. **ive only read this, nver tried)
i only know rogero besides the new nocheck tb cfw, thats probably why e3 chose it. every single tutorial ive seen about trueblue always says just install straight through xmb (settings > sys update > usb storage)
ive never had issues with rogero? is there a problem?

ok, so that means that rogero v2 (which has kmeaws lv1 patch and Dospiedras’ lv1 no check patch) can be installed and then tb is no longer needed (assuming you sell your tb dongle or whatever) and you're still good to play 3.55 and lower games as with any other custom firmware?
if i understand correctly, the whole no check prevents checking the syscon for anything 3.56+ right? that means that any console that has 3.56+ written to syscon has to use a no check cfw from now on after the downgrade (unless a new cfw comes out).....and to my understanding rogero is the only dongle free one out there. am i wrong? (and i don't even wanna think of going into the whole QA flagging crap)

The Rogero v2 cfw it's basically based on kmeaws cfw with the extra stuff (i think ).
The cfw that e3 provides what is it??Does someone have more information ??And which one has better compatibility with ps3 games ??
