Thread: Planning to buy ps3 but have some hesitations, need advice!

I'm planning to buy a ps3 and i know that its firmware might be 3.70 OFW, don't I have any options but to buy original games? also, does that mean that i can't play old pirated games (like Resident Evil 5)?

Please help me, as i really want to buy a ps3, but if its not that economical, i might shift to xbox 360, that one can be hacked right?

If funds are limited you've pretty much answered your own question, because as it stands you'd be stuck to playing retail only games or self purchased PSN titles.

Maybe shop around and try and buy a second-hand CFW machine from somewhere that will give you some form of guarantee, failing that it looks like the 360 could be your best option.

your BEST bet is to keep your eye out for a moddable ps3. They can be found used for a hefty price unless you find some nice guy who just wants to sell it and not make a profit. Also, if you can find a new PS move bundle you most likely will be able to mod it, as well.

what is your interpretation of economical? paying some hundred bucks for playing video games is never economical. and how comes that every day now 5 of those threads are opened? something happened on new years eve? everyone wants to buy the oldest video game consoles in the last year of earth?

On OFW but my Step-brother uses that way more than me, I plan to grab a Wii as I plan on getting a WiiU when it finally drops.

EDIT: Let me put it this way, I would rather sell me PS3 to the next guy who will enjoy it than take another cfw capable ps3 away from the universe forever. LOL I am so opposed to TB and their ilk that I would rather opt-out of it all than give in to them. I guess you can say I am just a stubborn S.O.B.

some sites(at least in brazil) sell Ps3 with 3.55 FW...
