Thread: Release CFW after PS4 announcement

if a new ps4 is plan to be release next year (2013)
maybe it be best to release a CFW then: because -
sony don't have to work so hard in locking ps3
game developers will be busy putting all their efforts on the upcoming new M$ and sony console

so many games had been released up to this point
i know some of u still want to have/play the latest games, yet u don't want to pay for it

i for one don't have a problem with the current ps3 situation
almost unlimited games to play
paid for my ps3 - last time i spent money on it
getting to try/play all this games/homebrew for free - thanks by the way

The ps4 was just announced that R&D started last year, and HUGE dev companies only have theoretical spec dev kits (basically super powerful PCs with the specs of the new PS4, not actual PS4 dev kits), so waiting for the new PS4 is a bit much. I think it will MAYBE be announced next year at E3 to be released on 2014.

I doubt it. it took six years to create the ps3. so I'm guessing it will be longer if they are just going into R&D

no sony already said they want to make the ps3 last 10 years, so it came out in what? 07? 08? we have a long way to go

Yeah, but the ps3 can coexist with it's successor. It happened with the PS2 when the PS3 was launched.
Besides, with the WiiU around the corner and the next box in 2013 probably, I highly doubt the PS4 will be launched on 2017

i highly doubt that sony will shift themselves away from cell cpu. They've invested huge money and time on their own exclusive processor. they will definitely upgrade the cell with more PPEs and SPEs. They will have to improve security thats all

i doubt we will see the wii u too soon, nintendo is notorious for delays and the 360 i bet we wont see till 2014 at the earliest, this generation of consoles is really much more advanced and there is noth much more that they can really do without adding a significant cost right now or for awhile

my point is, i believe it will be better to release a new cfw when-
there is a high rumors/conversation about the ps4/xbox720
when all developers are busy working on the next console
all of sony's effort be on the upcoming ps4

I don't think waiting that long is feasible...I'm guessing we're looking at 2015, maybe even 2016 before a new console emerges.

1. sony said they wanted a 10-year market for ps3...that means it will be the exclusive sony console. No co-existing with ps4. It will live past the ps4 launch, but I think that statement is saying it will be the top dog for 10 years.

2. do you really want to wait at least 4 more years for a solution to newer games? I know I don't....that would suck so bad!!
