Thread: If I Buy New PS3 will It Be On Latest Firmware ?

i want to know before i buy one because i dont want to not be able to jb

I havnt seen any models under chech3000 and basically everything new now in stores seems to be that.
Theres no official word on that topic because everyones country is different. I do know of a fact that the ps3 bundles of black ops and of killzone 3 come with 3.50.
But for a reference look at the box for model number CHECH-3000 this one is 3.60 out of box I think,.

Your best bet is to try ebay. Just search for PS3 with 3.55 or 3.50 firmware.

Or Gamestop/EB games. I know at EB games you can buy older or refurbished units. I bought my one 160GB off Ebay brand new and had 3.41 on it. I just asked the guy what model numbers he had.

if you want to really be sure go into a shop which sells traded in consoles.
and ask if you can check the firmware version, if they don't have one on the right FW ask them to old one when it comes in.

If your buying new then go to the smaller stores first as they normally have a lower rate of stock turnover than the big stores, so you may just find one of the old bundles. I bought my new console when the price drop hit in September and I got lucky.
