Thread: my 60gb backward compatible ps3 for a mac desktop?

hey guys i was offered a mac desktop (i need a desktop) to trade in for my 60gb backward compatible ps3.i was wondering if this would be considered a good deal?i know some people will be like ps3 is the best blah blah............and u know what i love my ps3,but my 8 year old brother updated it as he wanted to watch a movie on netflix -.-.so as it is currently useless and as i said before i really need a desktop my laptop keeps getting shared around my family.(being the fastest and newest).i was wondering if ull could give me your view on whether or not this would be a good deal?the mac is about 2 years old has 2gb ram comes with a 160gb harddrive and a good graphics card.will update when i find out the cpu specifiactions thanks alot.

Does it come with all the peripherals (Monitor, keyboard, mouse) and software discs (if any)?

Mac's can't be upgraded right? At least I was told the laptops can't.. I know nothing about Mac's at all but it sounds like a descent deal.

As long as it's a newer mac then it's a good deal.
But this is something you should really decide for yourself.

The laptops arent upgradeable accept for when you purchase it new (besides the obvious like ram) but the desktops are somewhat upgradeable (video cards and stuff, never did the CPU but it is possible i'm sure). I could give you a fair analysis if i knew what model mac you were getting for your console. I sell 60 gig backwards ps3's for around $180-$225 depending on what i add with them so really either way in my book your coming out on top unless your offering a bunch of games with it, then i'd really need a model to give good advice. I am a mac and pc person, well i'm a COMPUTER person lol (i love my linux ALOT! also). I have had MANY macs, let me know what your getting and i'll let you know what its worth. *Side note* if your looking for a fast mac for cheap i could send you my specs ($469 on newegg.com including shipping) for a i3 Custom Hackintosh, it runs EXACTLY like a real mac and was installed from a original Snow Leopard disc. Great on games also, and updates as a normal mac should (from the apple network and all). Be perfect if you know how to build a Pc yourself and had some funds.

I've been thinking of building a nice setup for myself.

if you want a desktop so bad, why not just install otherOS++ and use it as your desktop...then you don't have to give up your ps3

BTW, macs suck hairy balls. Thought you should know that.

TC I wouldnt trade it!! 60GBs are rare gems xD if you want a PC that bad gather your collection of video games and sell them, then use that money towards purchasing a PC
