Thread: Any suggestions for something different?

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest something different in terms of genre.

I've been playing a ton of games for a long time, and am wondering if anyone knows any games that just struck you as something you either hadn't seen in a long time or flat out different.

One example would have to be Valkyria Chronicles for me. Reminds me of General Chaos/ the tactics RPGs i've played. Making a pretty cool combo.

Mmm, there is one, I think. But it's for Wii. I'm talking about Pandora no Tou. I haven't seen a good action-jRPG with such interesting system for a long time. Not to mention it having an internal time limit(yeah, you can't just spend all the time in the tower). Well, also the chain, that is used as a tool, and also as a weapon.
The game worths it, so I even bought it(second wii game I bought, lol)

I'd give Katamari Forever a spin, pun not intended. There's a genre of its own for you. You'll either love it or hate it. Really no in between. Also, Everyday Shooter is a good one to check out. One of the few PSN titles that works. Yakuza in general is also a good title with just a mixture of a lot. Aquanaut's Holiday/Afrika if you want something completely different.

Just got 3D Dot Heroes and Final Fantasy 13 just this week(as in bought) and I am LOVING the Dot Heores to death. It's old-school Zelda and then literally made 3D.



FF13 is great and all, but Dot Heroes has a charm that you just can't deny

I don't know what consoles you have but there are some really good wii games that I am playing.

Only console I don't have access to is 360.

I went screwy on the wii game downloading long before this stuff was possible lol. They do have some fun stuff, but i'm a bit burnt out on that now.

My ps2 HDD connector is acting stupid so i'm actually back to discs for that, but anything is good on ps2 as well.

any of the spyro or ratchet and clank series.
spyro games are on all consoles. and ps2-3 has ratchet and clank

If it's PS2, I'd recommend Spectral Force series. Really good TRPG with strategy elements, as well as many other features. Also Atelier series is good, having kind of it's own way in the game industry and that's why I love it.

Demon´s Souls, if you have online it can be quite fun. Nier, good storyline + awesome gameplay

Just learned today that Super smash bros brawl really is a epic game lol.
