Thread: PS2 Controller to PS3 usb converters

Thought I'd ask this since I'd like know before I make any purchases. I'm curious to know if the 3.50 firmware killed off the ps2 controller to ps3 converters.

No Not at all, I still use mine... But Mine looks alot like the 2nd one.... saved me 45 bucks on a controller for my friends who come over as I have about 6 spare PS2 controllers lol

i have one that looks exactly like one on picture
unfortunately mine has inverted controls ,like buttons are mapped wrong for some reason(stupid Korean ****) x is o, square is triangle,r1 is r2,l1 is l2,
which wouldn't be that much problem if R3 isnt start and right analog is ****ed up,left is down,down is right,right is up,up is left.So it can only by used for games that have no use of right analog(fighters ,sports,and racing games)
i know that there are some legit ps2 to pc converters that works properly ,i am only complaining in hope that someone know if i can fix it this somehow
and i would also like to know if this works on 3.55 cfw since i am still on 3.41

Personally I have not yet found a USB device that my legit PS3 wouldn't accept.

The blue one or the black one? Personally I think the black one looks a bit higher quality than the blue so I think that's what I'm going to go with despite the loss of a slot. I'm just buying this so that when my brothers come over to my house they'll be able to play coop split screen games together and didn't feel like shelling out $40-50 on a controller when I have at least a dozen ps2 controllers just collecting dust.

Anyways thanks for letting me know that a lot of em still work so I guess I'll just order that black one right now.

knock off sony controllers don't work. the real ones do.

Depends on the game, mine works with Tekken 6 but does not work with Gran Turismo 5. Not sure about other games cause I bought another controller already.

i had mine like the blue one i just bought it for $4.5 new (my country is in indonesia). it worked perfectly for any games without a problem except racing and driving game. well you'll always top speed lol.

I assume that's because the ps2 and ps3 l2/r2 are completely different. On the ps2 they're buttons while on the ps3 they're pressure sensitive triggers.

buttons on ps2 are pressure sensitive too analogue buttons were added in ps2.
I imagine the converter can only output digital.
