I cannot stand noobs posting helps questions in the wrong section!!!
No, no, no I am just kidding, thats not what this is about. But you have to admit I gotcha there for a sec! :D
No, what I really would like to talk about is a few things I have been noticing lately, heck could have been happening for a long time, maybe I just didnt notice.
EDIT: Please do NOT flame! We are perfectly capable of discussing this as adults!
Crying, Screaming, Yelling FAKE at a user uploading a wanted game.
The Infamous 2 thread is a perfect example and since it is fresh in everyones minds, I can explain better.
From what I can tell some people were yelling fake and asking for bans before the entire game was uploaded.
Listen guys, gals, kids and adults. I know this was primarily due to it being uploaded as the post was up, but more so because the uploader did not have a strong presence here, so we will focus on that, we will touch on the uploading part later.
I have to say I am disgusted and ashamed (and this is coming from me) at the people that were claiming fake (there was no way for you to know) and asking for a ban (without proof of fake). Did it ever occur to any of you that this user uploading may have leeched a lot of games and got his hands on this one (Infamous 2) and being so excited that he wanted to give back to the community?
No it probably didnt. At least the ones that were screaming fake in the original thread.
On to the second thread that asked what happened to the OP. We had people replying on the second page that the reason it was removed is because it was fake. YOU people should be ashamed! YOU are the ones that should get a week or two ban, not the poor uploader!
You people went ahead and on NO INFORMATION AT ALL and made a very grave claim against the OP of Infamous 2. And the whole basis of why you originally thought it was fake is because he had a low post count or had not uploaded.
By all means, express your opinion on something if you think its fake/misleading ect. But do so in a manner that others reading will know it is based on your opinion only, include any facts you have as well. By facts, I mean hard evidence, not your theory.
Now this poor guy has gone through a barrage of junk (partly caused by him posting before the upload was done) but mainly because of people claiming Fake with no real proof.
I gotta say (And this is only my opinion) this guy may work for Gamestop or something, it is possible. And if that is the case, any game that is not released on Tuesdays, will be delivered the Tuesday before release. How do I know? Because I used to be a manager there. So if this happens to be the case with this uploader, you guys that totally went off on him and bashed him based on your own opinions, no facts. I would be suprized if he uploads anything again. And you can bet your greedy little hands he will get many games before release if he does in fact for a video store of some kind.
Q:Why did the thread have to be moved?
Gotta say bosses, this kinda baffles me as well. Shin, I read your post in the thread on this page citing the rules, which I understand. But, and I can attest to this because when I was starting my uploading thread (This is before I Was told by my ISP I am limited to 250gb xfer up or down) and others that have multiple games do in fact have an "Uploading" where the game is supposed to be. Now I understand that this is not a multi-game thread, but a single game thread, but I would think we should enforce the rule or dont enforce it. Not, let it slide with multi-game threads and single out single game threads.
Allow me to explain or rather offer a suggestion.
Instead of a separate forum for uploading threads (which would cause the mods MUCH more work BTW, although a valid suggestion none the less), why not let/require/allow uploading threads be tagged as such in the title?
Now to me and I am sure others may agree, this is the best course to take and here is why. By allowing users to add links as they are uploading, people that thread watch can download files as they are uploaded. Thus getting the game they are downloading almost as soon as the upload finishes. Instead of having to wait until the entire upload is finished, they can get started right away if they so choose. And the downloaders can also report problems with the links faster and sooner than if waiting for it to be completely uploaded.(MU/FS)Infamous 2 USA 100mb parts (UPLOADING)
Just a suggestion. (please dont move my post to suggestions based upon that)
To the original uploader that this post was inspired by:
You did good by uploading a real game, I understand your excitement of wanting to either be the first to post it, or just get it up ASAP for our members and kudos for that. I commend you for giving back to our community and would like to say not all of us are jerks* and we do appreciate new uploaders and people that share. Dont let a few bad apples ruin what may be a very rewarding experience. Next time just maybe read the rules before posting a very sought after game, would save a lot of headache for you and the mods lol.
Anyways, thats all I wanted to say, rather all I wanted to discuss as I would love others opinions on this. Sorry so long, wanted to make sure I worded it correctly. The crib notes are....
- Calling fake and asking for a ban when the upload isint finished is wrong.
- Posting false information based not on fact but on your own opinion is wrong.
- Do not judge people by their post counts or activity on the boards.
* Yes I know I am an exception to the rule of jerks because I get down on noobs hard core for posting for help in the wrong section, so in that area I AM a jerk. So you do not need to reply to this thread pointing that out.
