Thread: QA Flagging and my progress

hi all,

as some or everyone should be aware i stated i will be doing or attempting to do the QA flagging and see what can be done to make it noob and less experienced friendly.

I thought i would make a thread for anyone interested in keeping track of my pregress.

right last night i started the process but i am currently stuck trying to find the controller button combo needed to finalise and see if this actually works properly.

I have been trying to find a link to someone who may know and is willing to share the code.


also i am still attempting to find on another on my dev/refurbed consoles the 3.60 keys.

if or when i amange to suceed i will be making this spread like an std on holiday.

anyway if anyone has the experience or skills or willing to test when done please contact me and i will offer out when or if found the most important things for the normal ps3 user.

Yeuh, might test if needed. Any luck with the combo? Also, did you need to run the git-hacks files from inside the ps3-linux shell?

-edits: Checking the math video, anyone know why his coldboot doesn't come up? The tvs on already... Also on retail firmware... Suggesting only the button combo is needed? At one point the supposed 'combo' hits up, down on the d-pad... dunno anything inbetween, before or after... for instance left up right down quickly enough would appear as up then down since we can't see or hear the controls...

also it looks like he's sitting the highlighted option on the lowest one and then doing it - all pure speculation. From little experience such as calibration and firmware access on GPS units and other toys the combination's relatively easy to remember. So 'crazy combo' it may be but it's a sensible one. GPS units can be tap left corner twice, right corner twice, left once, right once. Other toys have hold button combos or a mix...

well hitting left or right brings u to the previous or next xmb column,so i would think that would be cancelled out. But i dont understand how its unmodified IF u really do need linux to get the correct token unless he is using ofw prier to the removal of other os(3.15?)

Ive read that the "Combo can be found in vsh.self"

right minor update and nothing much groundbreaking but i have been pointed now by 2 people that the combo is encrypted within the vsh which then needs to go through a hex editor to release the combination. credit to both people who has messaged me that information.

i am now decrypting the vsh and will be in the next few hours sticking it through a hex editor i have coded and built myself.

hopefully this will lead to the combo being released and i can work on getting a valid token generated. for those who are interested my theory and route is that it would need to be done via linux/gameos at the moment but hoping that will change once and if this works.

also working still on obtaining 3.60 keys from another of my ps3 test units so i am working on 2 fronts and hopefully 1 or the other will come up trumps.

ill keep people updated as and when i can but i do work 60 hour weeks, have a daughter and wife to spend time with aswell so please be patient.
