Thread: Dead Space 2 Requires Online Pass to play online

I recently received Dead Space 2 for the ps3, but it turns out that in order to play the game online you must have the online pass which can be found on the back of the game manual. This is expected since it is, after all, an EA game. You can also buy an online pass from the psn, but since the game has not hit shelves yet, you can't do it. So if you download the game here, but don't have an online pass, you can either buy one (It's probably $9.99) from the psn, or use the free 2-day trial to play online.

medal of honour is the same , but the online pass is only used for extra content. it does not stop multiplayer.

i take it its not the same with dead space 2

I'll be the one to say you shouldn't be taking a game online until its street date. Playing games early is the sign of either a pirate or a Gamestop employee.

Crap im so stupid... I played Dead Space 2 while logged into PSN and I realized like 30 minutes later that this game hasn't even been released yet! :S

I hope the fact that I did not try to access multiplayer will help me in not getting banned o_o

I signed in to the PSN with this game, and no problems so far, except I was unable to find anyone playing online. Quite a few of my friends already have this game, but have decided not to access the multiplayer.

guess gamefly going to lose some bussiness on this game

Just tell Sony you work for Gamestop! :D I applied there once when I was in-between jobs and the guy who interviewed me made a point to say they get games like a month in advance and get to take them home. Or maybe my local store is just run by creeps.
