    Default Formatting to a Fat32

What’s a good program to format a 1.5TB Seagate external hard drive disk to a Fat32?

Is it possible do only part of it, because I want to save the other part for ps2 backup and pc usage.

actally if i formatted the whole drive into a fat32 could i still backup and play ps2 games on it, and use it as storage for pc use. sorry i don't know much about this just read something about needing to format the harddrive into a fat32.

by the way it is currently a ntfs

    I used Fat32Formatter to format a terabyte drive for my 360 - Fat32Formatter

I don't know if its the case with the ps3 (still waiting for the psp version) but with the 360 you have to do a full format or it won't be recognized, and although I haven't tried it looks like you can do partitions with it as well

The Windows formatter should work fine, albeit slow.

For Linux I use GParted, which you can find in live CD form, but it has much better speeds, but they should work the same.

I've used the formatter that comes with Windows and haven't had any problems.

You cant use the formatter that comes with Windows to format it to FAT32. You have to use fat32formatter.

You can, however, use the Windows formatter to partition your drive, which it seems like you want to do.

You didnt happen to get this external hard drive did you?

If so, it is complete crap. I have had two of these guys. The first one was buggy as hell and died within 4 months. The second one got the click of death within 1 DAY! I hate it to death. I switched over to Western Digital after that.

Yea, seriously. I can NOT believe how crappy they are. Seagate usually has some decent drives, but it really looks like they did not care a bit with this external.

I will NOT buy another seagate again after both of mine crapping out.
