Why 3.55
Hi
after a lot of research i updated to cfw 4.30 v2.3 today no problems at all updating was previously on 3.55 kmeaw (got fed up of waiting for game fixes).
Anyway read a lot about having to get original eboots for games to work on fw 4.30 (what a load of rubbish)i have over 200 games all work on new cfw without original eboots.
New cfw also runs a lot quicker and smoother than kmeaw so my question is why does anyone want to remain on 3.55
your views please

I stayed on 3.55 CFW for quite a while simply because all the new games were getting 3.55 fixes and the early 4.21 and 4.30 CFW's were buggy.

People hate change. That's my theory. (and not everything that people don't use is signed for 4.xx firmware yet)

Thanks for replys big surprise for me was not needing original eboots for 4.30 for existing games i have

Don't forget that there were a lot of bricks as well with the early releases of these firmwares. That scared people off including me.

I think mainly the eboots that needed replacing were the 3.55 TB eboot fixes that came around. I've had no issues with any normal 3.55 fixed eboot as of yet... though I do only have 1 or 2 I know of for sure lol.

I think people are more afraid of screwing up their PS3's updating to 4.30. It definitely isn't a simple copy file to USB, install CFW, done like 3.41/3.55 is. I believe when they see the steps and tutorials needed taken in order to successfully install 4.30 they're like OMG, brain pops then they say screw that and with good reason.
Still very risky to install 4.30 because of the steps needed. Totally worth it if successfully updated but not if they miss a step and screw up.

The newest Rogero CFW is as simple as installing Kmeaw. Just put the PUP on a USB and install.

TB eboots were an issue, and there were apps released to sign 3.55 keys. If those apps had worked for every game I wouldn't have changed.
If it ain't broke, don't fix -- ie. stability.
Replacing eboots was a pain, and in some cases didn't want to patch a game to the latest level as I didn't like the "fixes". I bit the bullet and two days later I'm still trying to get
some games working. But Rogero is nice. Not too much different than 3.55, but the multiman enhancements are great (split games available again).

I'm still on 3.41. People still make fixes. No need to update. Everything works. New PS3 games aren't that great.
