Thread: Hows PS3 scene doing?

I've been doing my reading, I normally don't bother posting but I am buying a PS3 slim soon. I'm aware new fw versions can't play backups. But I'm reading they are working on it. Couple of fake youtube videos in between. Some of you can downgrade from 4.00 below.

Well what I'm saying if I'm saying anything is where exactly is this scene at? Of course I plan to purchase games, I'm not buying it and waitting until a solution to play backups becomes release. It'll ne nice knowing backup option is or will be soon.

You shouldn't be posting in the wrong section. This is for posting about PlayStation news, not asking. Mods should be moving your thread soon. But next time make sure you post in the right section.

As for the scene, it's slow and there's nothing concrete yet for 3.60+ games. So no, nobody knows when can we play 3.60+ games.

Wrong section to ask for help.

Just a few notes for you:

A ps3 running CFW 3.55 or below can't play genuine game disc's that require later firmware.
To downgrade firmwares higher than 3.55 you would need to buy a hardware flasher.
There are usb dongles that that will allow you to play some 3.60+ firmware games, I won't mention their name as I don't agree with what they're doing.
There is hardware available that will allow for dual booting two different firmwares, eg: OFW 4.00 & CFW 3.55
