How do you pronounce Vita?
How do you pronounce Vita?
Can we return to the main subject? :D
I'm getting it the moment it is available in the EU. Why?
1. Getting the lowest FW available - who knows what they will patch in the newer FWs (i.e. HBL which is still not patched in 1.52);
2. I'm a big handheld fanboy (I own all PSP/NDS models);
3. 3G! I have free, public 3G internet in my country (300kb/s, not much but it is free) so a 3G feature sure makes Vita more attractive.
I hope for a hack, however I'm sure it is going to be effin' hard. But who knows... the PSP scene is strong. Those Chinese guys like VirtousFlame can do miracles, so I hope they will crack the new memory card standard and enable ISO loaders. I also have hopes with the HBL, which may allow us to play PSP ISO's regardless of the FW. A Vita with the ability to play all PSP ISOs is still a good buy.
no,it's vaita. rotf hahaha! :D
is it worth the wait?
well i think it's safe to wait and see if things turn the way you want.
i personally got my ps3 way before the hack but i always dreamed to have it modded on the first day.
i don't know if it's tactic or something but if they come up with a mod for the vita after several years as for the ps3 you,waited in vain and maybe another handheld is on the way.
We're getting closer to the US release of PS Vita. There are 26 launch titles announced, and Sony is also releasing more than 60 psp titles for digital download. Which was actually the main purpose of this title. Will buying a psvita allow us to play all psp games at the same quality (or higher). Sony says that they will keep releasing these titles for digital download. There will be many packs including many games. But there is another important question.
If you are a portable user, you probably know that the heart of portable gaming beats in Japan. More than Half of the portable Games are made by Japanese Companies, and half of those titles never get released in the west. This is not just in psp, this is also a problem we're facing in DS.
So far people imported the games they wanted to play the games they wanted, or just used piracy. So will western players have access to the Japanese titles? Will sony release these titles in both countries PSN's?
I agree with saros32. One of the most critical aspects will revolve around whether or not PSV is region free. Haven't seen a new US psp title in ages, but new Japanese releases come out almost weekly. It's been like this for the entire lifespan of the PSP, so don't be fooled by those who claim it's due to the PSP's age/PSV release. I also agree with others here that those who buy it first will have the low FW advantage as well as the full feature suite. Y'all know how Sony is, a few price drops into the future and it'll be a shadow of it's former self. I've had a hacked psp for years, but most of the things I hacked it for can be done on a pc or android phone nowadays, such as ps1 emulation, e-reading, etc. If you've never played any of the PSP titles, then pick one up. They're dirt cheap now and there are a lot of good games, like God Eater, Naruto:ultimate ninja impact, Resistance, Dissidia 1+2, and Final Fantasy Type 0. I see em for $50 all the time now. Hell, I'm selling a hacked phat with a 32GB HX card for $100 w/2nd battery, car charger, etc... and no one on craigslist cares! Point being: depends on whether you ever owned one. If so, then buy PSV. If not, start with a PSP on CFW. It's cheap entertainment and it can do a lot of cool sh*t.
Pillage the village, rape the sheep....... steal the women? ( . Y . )
Okay, I've got some news, It'll probably affect the potential buyers in some ways.
First of all PSVita has almost no problems with backwards compatibility, many new titles have been released. And as I've read from some websites and blogs, You can actually download and paly imported games from Japan PSN on your PSVita. Which is very cool, because In Japan there are several new psp releases every month (or week).
But there is a little problem with price. I actually checked some e-shops in my country. And You can actually buy a psp, a ps2 and a wii (I'm not talking about second hand consoles, I've compared the prices with unused consoles) with the money that you're going to pay for a vita, and you will even have some more in your pocket. And I didn't even include the money that you're going spend on those memory cards.
The reason I made this comparison is pretty simple. Because with the same amount of money, you could have a very larger game library.
Wii: Plays Wii, Nintendo Gamecube and N64 games (I've also heard that it has a decent nintendo ds emulator)
PS2: You can play ps1 and ps2 games.
PSP: You can play PSP games, PS1 classics from PSN and PSN mini titles, along with the countless retro emulators that include GBA, which is also another enjoyable Nintendo handheld.
And I look at Vita, I have to admit there are very interesting titles one of them is "Uncharted: Golden Abyss". Anyone who enjoyed the Uncharted series probably like the prequel. There is also "Gravity Rush", which also a good game in terms of gameplay and visuals (not just the designs, also the physics) and there are some JRPG's which are also good. But the other titles, are just some FPS games that are just ps3 rip-offs (Resistance is a good example) and some other titles whch are ported from ps3 (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter vs Capcom, Ninja Gaiden Plus, Disgaea 3, Lego Harry Poter, Rayman origins etc...) . And theyre pretty much useless if you already have a ps3.
So what's so special about Vita? Touch Controls? If you ask me they will get old quickly (Actually they weren't fun in the beginning). Social Gaming? More than half of us are waiting for this machine to get hacked, who gives a **** about multiplayer?
It's because it has ability to add a second analog stick support and improved visual quality to all PSP titles that you used to play.
This is just my opinion, but be wise. Because this is a new console, there is also a chance that you'll have to wait for a new cfw for more than a year.
