Thread: Please help me ASAP.

Hi guys OK So today I just bought a PS3 60GB Disc drive is not working so I wanna jailbreak it. Anyways It is on Version 3.21. I Read here on the noob tutorials that you need to first bring it up to 3.55 and then jailbreak it. I wanna know If I firs bring it to OFW 3.55 will that not affect anything and by an accident update to a newer version and then I can't Jailbreak it? What is the easiest tutorial for a noob here so I can jailbreak it and play backups from external HDD. Please help me ASAP

If you put the 3.55 UPDATE.PUP on a USB drive and the console isn't connected to the internet, no, it's not going to update you to the current firmware, just the firmware you have on the USB.

as ya said it's Disc drive is not working .... it's better to jb it with [3.41], since it's better than 3.55 on playing Discless !

3.41 is better at reading discless.

Your question was, in what ways?

uhhh well... in the ways in which it is able to read more games without a disc. Since your drive is broken, it would be in your best interest to go that route.

Next time at least attempt to be a little self-sufficient.
