PS3 Versions of GTA III and Vice City Rated by the ESRB

The Grand Theft Auto series has been one of the most influential franchises in gaming, so it comes as no surprise that both GTA III and GTA: Vice City have been rated by the ESRB for the PlayStation 3.

With Grand Theft Auto V on the not too distant horizon, it would be logical for Rockstar to re-release their PlayStation 2 hits in an HD collection. However, the third entry in the GTA III trilogy is noticeably absent. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas pushed open-world gameplay to new heights at the time, with an expansive world unmatched by any title prior.

So why hasn’t the ESRB rated San Andreas? Perhaps Rockstar isn’t planning on selling a disc-based HD collection at all, and is instead dishing out the games digitally over the PlayStation Network with plans of releasing the final entry later.

At this point, it looks like we’ll just have to wait for confirmation from the studio before we know exactly what is planned for these landmark PS2 titles. In the meantime, keep it here for all the latest Grand Theft Auto news and everything PlayStation.

any chance on GTA3 , vc and san andreas release HD remake?

You guys know, Hitman Blood Money is also rated for ps3 along with the Killzone 1 and Twisted Metal Black. They are still considering the hd option, but for now both vice city and III will be released as "ps2 classics", like the games before (Ring of Red, Maximo, God Hand...).

It's great to see more ps2 classics but, it would be nicer to get more exclusive titles and jrpgs or platformers. Because most of the people have computers powerful enough to play these games in higher qualities. Of course a full library is what we are aiming for, but they should change their priorities a little. Can you play:

Ratchet and Clank
Persona
Final Fantasy
Digital Devil Saga
Nocturne
Front Mission
Syphon Filter
Kingdom Hearts

Of course I'm talking for myself, others may think differently. But I love the games they're going to release and I still happy with it.

GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City would be awesome in HD! You know they released GTA 3 for iOS since it's its 10 year anniversary. You think when the 10 year anniversary comes for GTA Vice City, they will make it for PS3? It is this year.

GTA San Andreas is the best out the the GTA series.
