Thread: Anyone here use PS3 file transfer?

Im very interested in doing a file transfer from my CFW to my OFW in the hopes of getting some of the over 150 psn games on my CFW working and online on my OFW machine. I currently have the 4.0 spoofer installed and have the lan cable and instructions, but have some questions before proceeding.

1. My cfw has a 640gig internal which is mostly full and my ofw only has a 250 gig. What is liable to occur when I do the transfer?

2. My OFW machine has several purchased psn games on it. After the file transfer I must do a format.......what will happen to these pre installed games?

3. Obvioulsy I have much save game data...........I assume I can just save this prior to doing the transfer and after reinstalling it have no issues? I purchased the OFW system for my daughters so they could play LBP2 online and I dont want any of their constumes or game data to be disrupted.

any files on the OFW console will be deleted.
all the info from the CFW console will be moved over to the other one (except for trophies)

if you want to do it properly check all the save files on the OFW console and back them up to USB.
make sure less than 250GB of space is used on the CFW console (so it will fit on the other one)
backup everything you can from the CFW console.
copy, replace backed up files, it should work.

if you use these consoles on a daily basis you should not do this as it's far too risky.

can you tell me what's happen if I have cracked PSN games installed or PSN content with reactPSN 2.2
will they work on OFW 4.11 (or before to 3.60) after transfer it ?

Anything from CFW to OFW won't work, apart from gamesaves, I think?

it should, so long as you are able to transfer using the ethernet cable method
