Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Will Have 'Unlimited Number Of Dragons'

Todd Howard has stated that in the next installment into the Elder Scrolls franchise, Skyrim, there will be an unlimited number of dragons present throughout the campaign.

Speaking to Gamer.no, Howard, who's the game's director, said "There is an unlimited number of dragons. One of our designers actually put in a random event I encountered, where I ended up being chased by three dragons and I thought 'who the hell did this?'"

He also said that they've waited so long to add it into the Elder Scrolls mythology because "we have never seen a game dealing with dragons as Jurassic Park handles dinosaurs. We wanted to do it properly."

Skyrim is due out on 11.11.11 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

I can't wait to get my hands on this game, it's a definite buy for me. I loved Oblivion so much, it was perfect IMO.

i never liked the elder scrols series...i mean,the combat system is hilarious,you swing the sword in front of enemy and the enemy drops dead hahahaha so retarded

You may be trolling, but I still agree. There's just something about it that I can't like no matter how hard I try. Morrowind and Oblivion were insanely clunky as well, considering they were Action RPG.

I'm not hating per se, just not my type of game.

I love the Elder Scrolls series. Both Morrowind and Oblivion are among my favorite games. Morrowind is better but the combat is atrocious but the combat in Oblivion is near perfect. Just hope Skyrim top them both.

its awesome when you are anticipating fan who obviously played all previous games and has vast knowledge of all of the Tamriels secrets.

I rather like Elder Scrolls, but i wasn't a big fan of the clunky combat. It would have been better to also have the Fallout VATS system for players who aren't into 1st person action rpgs and want some time for stats to actually make a difference in reaction time. There's just something about swinging a sword and then backstepping 5 feet, and repeating that doesn't seem... realistic to me.
I kinda don't like this 'unlimited number of dragons' announcement as you might just walk out of a noob town and then get swarmed with 3 dragons as in the example above. not cool.

thats bullcrap man, not every dragon needs to be 20 feet tall I hope.
and by 20 feet tall, I mean extremely hard to beat. I wanted the dragons to be boss like, not like the little annoying fly imps in oblivion

"Get them my pretties" Seriously tho, it sounds tight. On one hand, yeah, getting swarmed is gonna suck. But, on the other hand, getting to the point where you can crush these kinds of encounters is friggin sweet! I'm not a fan of the series but I'll definitely try it. I wanna see dragons decimating a village, or consuming a human sacrifice.
