If you are going to watch them from DVD then you are better off converting them properly and watching them on a dvd player.
Playing media files from CD/DVD puts much stress on the PS2s laser.

I personally use TMPGEnc DVD Author 3 with DivX Authoring.
Just put in your video source, choose your desired settings and away you go.
Please note, although the PS2 has DVD playback ability it was never meant to be used as a DVD player.
You can get a DVD player for $9.99 at your local Wal-Mart.

If I recall you can use Nero Showtime or something like that to convert video files.
I personally hate nero so I don't know much about it.

If you don't convert them then you won't be able to watch them from a DVD.
I use CloneDVD2 for burning my DVD movies at about 10x, although the speed probably doesn't matter.

I used that converting program that u typed and how long does it convert? Cuz i wanted to put 13 episodes on 1 dvd and on other 13.1 episode is 200-250mbs and it converted for 30 min and was still converting 1! Did i do something wrong. Also thanks for going all that trouble for helping me!

    :EDIT!
I tried converting 1 file it worked fine but after it had done it says only audio can be converted.
I also have Easy MPEG AVI DIVX WMV RM to DVD but it doesnt find the videos for some reason i tried to pick a different and it worked on a different anime. Is there a program to make files avi or something like that?

To convert, I use ConvertXtoDVD 4.1.4.338 Multilingual Portable! Great portable App for converting other video formats to DVD format (even for multi-episodes).
