Well if you don't have a ps3 memory card adapter and don't want to buy one then you'll need a hacked memory card with uLaunch on it and a USB flash drive. Look up Free Mcboot and go to the SKS apps tutorial. There's several ways to install it but most of them involve buying stuff, but you can send your memory card to people for free and have them install it for you. If you don't want to do that there's the game swap method but with a fat ps2 you'll have to make a slide card, you can print out a diagram and use it to cut out an old credit or grocery savings card or something like that (just Google PS2 slide card, you should be able to find it).
Once you have Free Mcboot put all the files you want to transfer on your flash drive put in your ps2 and run uLaunch. The default buttons are O= ok X= cancel, you can reverse this by going to Configure then Startup settings then Pad mapping and press O (you'll have to restart it for this to take effect). Then on the main screen go to file browser, mc0 is your memory card in slot1 and mass is your USB device. Go to mass and highlight the file you want to transfer and press R1 to cut/copy/paste then move it to mc0.
I don't know anything about roster files though so hopefully this will do what you want it to, if it's a downloaded game save then you need to use PS2 Save Builder, if it's some kind of online downloadable content then I don't know if it will work.
