i have seen a pink ps2 that i would like to get for my daughters. i would like to make sure it can play copied dvds.

Are you talking movie DVDs or game DVDs or both?
I use to make them with DVD Flick and they've always worked without a chip for me..

Yes. The ps2 will play movies that are made with dvd flick. They've worked for me so they should work for you as well.

i didnt want to get the ps2 chipped as you can buy games to £1, but i would have chipped it to play movies.....but now i dont have to......thanks peeps!

I second this. You DO NOT need to chip your ps2 to play backup dvds.
The ps2 just plays them normally. Trust me, I tried. Obviously, you need to burn them with the right region settings.
either NTSC or PAL, but otherwise it works.
