Default Chip modded PS2 can't read Dual Layer DVD's?

I was able to burn an ISO of God of War II patched with Toxic's Dual Layer Image Patcher using ImgBurn at 4x write speed. Apparently, after writing the ISO to a dual layer DVD, my modded PS2 can't read it. I tried re-inserting the disc and resetting the PS2 but it can't seem to read it. Btw, I used a Phillips Dual Layer blank DVD.

Did you use DVD+R and did you set book type to DVD-ROM? If so, try some other media, like Verbatim.
For most easier downloading from linksave.in, just insert linksave link into JDownloader and him download all files automatically.

Yes I did use a DVD+R for the game. It's a Philips DL DVD+R. What do you mean by setting the book type into DVD-ROM?

You need to set type to DVD-ROM, as it's stated in Toxic Dual Layer Patcher nfo.
If you get the RSOD (Red Screen Of Death) while attempting to boot your
DVD DL backup game, this is due to an authentication error. This can
happen when the "book type" of your backup is set to "DVD+R DL" and not
"DVD-ROM". Most burners will automatically set the book type of your
burnt disc to DVD-ROM, however if your burner does not do this you should
be able to manually modify the book type using burning software such as
DVD Decrypter. To verify that the book type of your burnt disc is set to
DVD-ROM, start DVD Decrypter, insert your backup disc and in the info
window find "Physical Format Information (Last Recorded):". A few lines
down should be the text "Book Type: DVD-ROM".
Maybe some programs and some drives set it automatically before burning, i don't know, here is how it looks for my drive in ImgBurn.

What version of ImgBurn is that you're using? I'm using the latest version of ImgBurn and from the settings > write tab, the checkbox for Auto Change Book Type (*) is already checked by default.

I'm not experiencing RSOD when trying to boot the backup game on my PS2 Slim. It just won't read it. Sometimes when I check whether the disc tray had the disc spins, it doesn't.

I have version 2.4.2.0. You can try some other media (i recommending Verbatim) and use speed 2.4x. If that won't work, so i don't know where can be problem. Maybe your PS2 laser is old and doesn't read DL DVD's anymore. Or laser in your DVD writer is weak and burn DL DVD's with insufficient quality (second layer is tricky). Or you modchip doesn't support DL DVD's, or maybe you must boot DL DVD's with some startup method (old modchips used long and short pressings of reset button to switch between boot modes). Or maybe something else, there's lot of maybe, try to check these things and maybe you find the problem.

This Slim PS2 of ours is still fairly new. It was bought around 2010 unmodded which I only used once during that time. It is only recently that it was chip modded so that I could play backup games with it. I guess I'll have to use some other DVD+R medium for this game to work.
