    Yes.
There are a couple methods you can use, all of them require a swap trick and some sort of store bought PS1 disk.
Unless the game gives you the option to finish the disk, save, then load the save after rebooting with the next disk then multi disk games are out.
    1. Quick swap, load up a real PS1 game and while it is initially starting up swap it with your backup. (there are tutorials on Youtube that explain it better than I can).
This method can be very tricky to time right and is more hassle than it is worth.
    2. Disk swap, buy a PS1 cheat disk (Codebreaker, Action Replay, Gameshark) load it up select the cheats you want to use (or none, it's up to you), select the menu item to start the game, when the cheat device says to insert your game use the swap trick to change the cheat disk for your backup then click start game.
    3. Use PSX Launcher, Load it with uLaunch or your favorite elf launcher.
After loading open the lid by pushing eject, insert an original psx game wait for the disk to stop spinning (about .5 seconds) then use your swap trick of choice put in the psx backup and then hit X.
    4. Try PS2PSXe, I don't know if it will ever be released out of beta and it really isn't all that good yet, but if I didn't mention it then I know someone would complain.
