Thread: ps2 memory card hack

ok im kinda a newb to the ps2 hacking.
so ive got just a couple questions,
from what ive read the only way i can get freemcboot on a memory card is with a cheat device like ar max codebreaker or gameshark and a couple others.
these disc have to be retail is what im seeing,you cant use a burned copy

1 where would i obtain one of these discs ?

2 is there another way to do it without ar max codebreaker ect...

From what I read, you haven't read the official FAQ and tutorials.
http://freemcboot.psx-scene.com/ (click the installation tab).
You can find a Codebreaker on eBay or Amazon.com for about $150.
Only 5 out of the 11 install methods require a cheat disk.

yeah i read the 007 agent underfire tut, went and bought the game yesterday for $ 2.50 usd, made the exploited iso burned it to a disc, however i tried to make my own swap tool and was unsuccessful at doing the swap,so what i decided to do was take my ps2(fat)apart,took the disc cover off took the magnetic spindle out of it,then when i got to to the driver stage i swapped the disc really fast and replaced it with the modified one, and presto i now have a modded ps2.

btw thanks doctor i guess people need to read more before posting and im an example of that.:D:D

ps.150 for a code breaker is a rip off
