Thread: MY PS2 DIED

Well ive had mine for about 3/4 years now and its still going strong the only thing wrong with it is the damn laser has trouble reading the disc every now and then but since I use hd advance and a hd I only need the disc to be read on boot up.

Like every console I own I've had to work hard to pay for it my dad bought me my first computer being a zx spectrum after that I saved my own money to buy every generation of hardware I needed to. (snes,genesis,saturn,psx ect ect.)

My parents are cool though and would have bought me one had I asked since I always was a good little boy :DancE:

What is it exactly and how can I use use it because I have got alot of problems with the laser recently

my PS2 is almost 3years and 6months old but till now may ps2 never get repaired or even get damage. :ClaP:
The only thing get destroyed is the controllers. ??? My controller's lifespan is always 3-6 months.

mine are like for couple of years my ps1 controller still does work now

yeah, same here. my ps1 controllers work fine. I dont know if my ps2 controllers will last as long because the way some ps2 games requires you to use them are just no controller-friendly. Well, that is if I continue to play it over the next few years. I might bust a pair of sixaxis before it that happens.

I feel for you (and for anyone who's had to go through such horror in their life), I really do. My fat ps2 died on me last December during the last week of the year after a little over 5 years of excessively active use. That wasn't the reason, though, it died because I wanted to make custom version of Guitar Hero 2 and play it without having to mod my machine. That required opening the console and switching discs, so I opened it a few days before I got the custom done and the ribbon-like thing that's connected to the power (reset) button got detached from inside of the console. I then tried to open it to see where it was attached to but couldn't find it so for some reason I just decided to tear the whole thing into pieces. Yup, there was no one to blame but me so I couldn't really be even angry. Luckily I'm about to get a new pre-modded slim ps2 and this endeavor will finally end. \o/ I find it funny that my ps1 is still working fine after ten and a half years since purchase.

dont use modchip for ps2 your ps2 dies out quikley use the swap magic

hahahaha, my PS1 just lasted a year and a half without mods and it was in good conditions, but my PS2 has been with me for around 7 years and it hasn't been modded but has been trown and has fallen to floor several times so i dint think they are made to last 4-5 years
