Well i just ran across this while trying to find a good ps2 online game to play and noticed most ps2 games that are online are now "Network Service Terminated" heres a list of the games still online and offline most of them are offline now

they've been gradually doing it for a long time... there's less people on them so it's not worth it to maintain for a few people, and they want people to switch to PS3

I was just checkin into the DNAS patch too! Oh well I guess its time to crack open the ps3 and see how she ticks!

It costs them money to have them running.

The PS2 is damn near, if not over...what...10 years old?

And the PS2 isn't like the Xbox, it wasn't boasting its online from the start.
Online was a just something that was tacked on.

If it makes you feel any better you didn't really miss out in the online hayday.
There was almost never anyone on as it was.


Maybe when PS2 on PC emulation is REALLY good (like GBA level) that'll change.

If you have dual processors, 3Ghz and over 1 Gb ram you can start playing 2D games at about 80 to 90% of the original framerate. After that the specs go up accordingly.

PS2, pretty much anything out of TB-RPGs you'll need one hell of a computer.

PS1, not so much...just a lot of messing around with the settings.
