For PS1 you can manage to emulate it well even with a crappy computer since you can make the graphics very basic; worse than the actual console. If you have a good computer, you can get more out of the emulator (ePSXe) than you did from the console, plus you get to save in any game, anywhere.

For the PS2, even if it's possible to emulate it with a somewhat decent computer, I think it's not even worth the trouble. The consoles are really cheap and easy to hack (50$ used in stores), it's getting easier to find games online, the ones you can't find online are 5 to $20 used and all the fun accessories are dirt cheap too... I bought the SingStar microphones for $20, a controller shaped like 2 guns for FPS for $10, a wireless GH/RB guitar for $10 and the Buzz controllers with a game for $10 as well... all brand new. You can even get a S-Video cable for your PS2, which is still better than composite. Emulation is fun for systems you can't find anymore, but there's nothing like a nice TV, a comfortable couch and some friends to enjoy a game.

It's sad that we're witnessing the decline of the PS2, but I'm far from ready to put it away for good for the PS3.

i usualy play urban chaos online and area 51. gonna suck when they get shut down

Battlefeild 2 modern combat isnt shut down mine still works online and i see lots of people playin it daily
