I've heard 8x-12x is best, 16x if you can, and stick in a Dummy file that's as big as you can get it. Games have a special drive that tends to read the outside more than the inside. So stick a dummy file that's a couple gigs big in before anything you need so it's all forced to the outside.

Max speed is the best. It's actually been proven that the error rate is lower in higher speeds. And it of course, gets the job done quicker :D
@drayad you don't REALLY need a dummy file, especially for games that have an iso over 3.5gb. The disc contents are burned close enough to the edge of the disc for good readability, e.g. you won't get any benefit from putting data halfway between the hole and the rim of the disc than the edge of the disc.

Burn it up at the highest speed you've got. If you run into problems with your particular burner you could drop the speed and experiment.

Re: whats the perfect speed to burn a game?
I've burnt games at 4x speed, 8x speed, 12x speed, and 16 xspeed. and I never had one flub at either of these burning speeds(and my burner is a cheap ol LG.) So really it's up to you to choose what speed to burn.
