so i downloaded all the parts and made the iso with no problems. i patched it with esr and used imgburn. my ps2 uses the freemcboot softmod to run my back up. but when i go to load the game, it lags extremely bad. it took almost a half an hour to get past the bandai screen and never actually got to the game to play it. so i re-burnt it at a different speed and it gave me a black screen. im using dvd+r and i tried burning at 2x and aws. so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Switch to DVD-R and never burn at minimum or max speeds the disks will not work.
The recommended speed is half the max speed of the media you are using (usually 8x).

ok so i switched to a dvd-r and burned at 8x, it finally loaded past the bandai screen normally, it gets past the .hack//gu loading screen then the screen just goes white and doesnt do anything anymore

That's a step in the right direction.
Now which brand of DVD-R are you using?
The ps2 is rather picky when it comes to disks.
Also try running a laser lens cleaner through your ps2 and see if that changes anything.

im using memorex, all my other back up's have worked using that brand so far
