Description
Ar tonelico takes place in the world of Sol Shell, a small world consisting of nothing more than a single floating tower set between a sea of clouds above and plasma below. The story centers on Laina Barselt, an eighteen-year-old whose father governs Platina, a town located in the top floors of the tower. Laina is uninterested in politics, and instead seeks adventure in the army. The game has multiple heroines of a species known as Ravateel, who use magic to sing songs about the world. However, these performances cause pain for the performer, so they only perform for loved ones.

Ar Tonelico mixes gameplay styles, with RPG exploration and turn-based battles. The key to winning is to make use of the singing ability of the heroines. Another gameplay system allows you to dive into the minds of the girls and learn about what she is thinking -- you can also change her costume and customize her skills.

Description

Description

Description
An adaptation of the Oscar-winning movie of the same name, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon allows players to explore different scenes from the film from the vantage point of several different characters. Description

Description
Dirge of Cerberus is an action spin-off of the very successful PlayStation-era RPG Final Fantasy VII. Cerberus is the name of Vincent's gun. Note that this isn't some kind of Citizen Kane-caliber spoiler or anything, it's just a useful piece of information for understanding the title. The game is about a man and his gun: the man brooding, the gun shooting, and the result being copious amounts of spent ammo, dead bodies, keycards and melodrama.

As a 3D action game with a touch of goth, Dirge has drawn a lot of comparisons to Capcom's Devil May Cry. The aesthetic is similar, but the feel of the game is completely different, so you can safely disregard the comparison in that aspect. With its behind-the-back view of the action and support of a USB mouse and keyboard for manual aiming, the game has more in common with your typical PC shooter. In fact, you can switch to a first-person view whenever you like.

The rightful heir and all-around egocentric bastard that he is, Laharl isn't about to lose his birthright without a fight, and it's from there the story really takes off. Borrowing the same isometric approach that the Ogre Battle and Final Fantasy Tactics games have enjoyed over the years, Disgaea isn't aimed at the novice RPG crowd. As a result, the multitude of menus, items types, weapon categories, and other such factors may seem a bit intimidating to the laymen.

Description
Better known to American as Dragon Warrior 8, Dragon Quest VIII brings the long-running RPG series to the PlayStation 2 for the first time. In it, players are able to capture monsters that inhabit the battlefield. These beasts differ from the creatures you'd normally encounter in battles, as they have special names and abilities unique to them. Once a monster has been scouted, it's added to a growing arsenal of creatures that can then be assembled into teams of three for use as support characters in battle. Outside of using these monster teams in combat, players can also use them in Dragon Quest VIII's "Monster Battle Road" tournament grounds. Other new additions to the series include full day and night cycles for towns, first-person conversations, and the ability to look around the 3D environments.

Description
This sequel to the Square-Enix action game continues the multifaceted air and ground combat of the original. Drakengard 2 (known as Drag On Dragoon in Japan) takes place 18 years after the events of the original. The whereabouts of the original's hero, Caim, are unknown to anyone. A new young knight called Nowe serves as the playable main character. Together with his dragon, Legna, Nowe takes part in land and air-based battles, just like in the original, albeit with more refined gameplay. The kill-all mechanics and upgradable weapons of the original return with this title, with the promise of faster action. While on the ground, the game now lets you change freely between characters, with no limit. You'll want to switch characters in order to best match the enemy at hand. Other additions include new mega attacks while airborne.
