Grrrr I think files-upload have taken down my links. So don't post here if a link is dead, I will be rechecking them in the next 2 days. I think most of them still work though.

Plays backup cd games. Apparently you're supposed to burn it on a dvd and run with a swap magic dvd version (e.g. the one above) and it allows you to load backup CD games.

My preferred choice of launching elfs. Also has built in FTP capabilities along with a HDD partitioner (no more need for the dms hdd format tool) with a couple of other extras.

Allows you to run games from a hdd. The only difference between the custom version and the normal is that the custom has a better background but a less readable font. Your choice. Try both.

The best media player I've tried. Plays Divx, mp3 and probably more (I only use Divx and mp3). Supports subtitles. Can play from USB, HDD, CD/DVD (for cd you have to swap out your psx game and put in your cd with divx, mp3 etc. For dvd, you have to put in a high TOC disk and swap out) and network.

If you want a hdd partitioner but don't want to get uLaunchElf just for that then this is the app for you. I know 1.1 is out but it didn't work on my 200gb hdd, this one at least is patched for 48 bit LBA so it will work on any hdd 137gb to 1tb. (1tb is in theory)

A must have for any hdloader user. Allows you to transfer ps2 isos and discs to a ps2 hdd from a pc. My preferred choice of app for that. What sets it apart for me is that if you want to apply a PPF patch to a game so it will run on hdloader you can apply it to the game after it's been transferred to the hdd so your iso isn't touched. Supports 48 bit lba. Wine users have mixed experiences with this.

Sorry mate but these downloads are for people who have purchased a retail swap magic, hdloader, have a modchip or have exploited their ps2 to run homebrew (exploit is only available on fat ps2s)
If I were you I'd get the retail swap magic and a usb stick. You can put homebrew on the usb stick and run it in swap magic and you can play backups.
Or get a modchip.

I think online's the only place you can get it :-\
You could get it off ebay if the seller allows bank transfer or cheque.

O yeah, anyway since you asked and I didn't know the answer (I do not give up) I've been looking all over and I've got this. Get a usb stick and make a folder called SWAPMAGIC
Get the swap magic 3.8 coder elf and name it SWAPMAGIC.ELF and put it in that folder you just made.
Put your stick in your ps2
Load up swap magic retail
The SWAPMAGIC.ELF should boot
If it doesn't, choose SMBOOT on the swap magic main menu.
Of course if you use something like uLaunchElf rather than the sm 3.8 coder elf you can launch any homebrew.

thanks for your help anyway how about the usb hdd trick do i need to have usbextreme disc for accessing the usb hdd or are there any diffrent cds the allow the same functions as the usb extreme disc sorry i am new to this+karma+

Believe me, playing games from a usb hdd is TERRIBLE. The game will run incredibly slowly and support for games is rubbish.
USB Extreme or HD Extreme are the only products that allow you to do that.
And Btw you don't need a vista to use paypal, most other credit cards work as well.

dont have a credit card or visa olny if the were stores to buy them lol : is there any other way to play burned game without having to buy online, or i might waight one month and my warrinty expires and i might get a mod chip but i dont know a good chip for a low price any suggestions
