Medal of Honor 2, Need for Speed 13 due in 2012?

An Electronic Arts meeting that was supposed to remain under wraps has reportedly been blown wide open. According to a tweet from United Kingdom retailer GAME (via Eurogamer), EA is preparing a Medal of Honor sequel and Need for Speed 13 for 2012.

It appears EA is filling 2012 with new Medal of Honor and Need for Speed games.

A since-removed tweet from the retailer reportedly read, "EA presentation was great. Had mentions of a new Medal of Honor and Need for Speed 13! EA have an exciting year ahead."

Last February, Medal of Honor producer Greg Goodrich confirmed that a sequel to the series' 2010 revamp was in development, but it did not provide a projected release window. The first game has shipped over 5 million units globally.

As for whether or not a 2012 release is likely for a Medal of Honor sequel, EA CEO John Riccitiello indicated his enthusiasm for the shooter genre last year, saying, "I want market leadership in the first-person shooter business."

Switching to the other 2012-rumored game, today's mention of Need for Speed 13 is the first news of a fresh entry in EA's long-standing racing series. However, the Need for Speed series has been annualized since 2002, making a new game in 2012 seem likely.

An EA representative told GameSpot, "We don't comment on rumors."

god i'd wish they would make a nba live game again i've been stuck playing nba 2k buggy crap for the last year and a half. I know im a minority but live 10 had that perfect balance between arcade and simulation and the controls were always responsive. Ea was just a few tweaks away from beating 2k before they quit. Nba elite sucked terribly.

EA has only themselves to blame for this. They got into the whole locking sporting licensees thing a whiles back and now only certain sports go to certain dev houses. Before it used to go to whoever could pony up the cash for said license and then the free market would decide which was better. EA felt threatened by NFL2K series so they pulled this crap.

Just what we need, another first person shooter (and it's not even successfull), and another Need Forspeed Game which became very uninteresting after the Most Wanted...

Are you kidding...NBA 2K12 is by far the better and more realistic game. Live has been horrible for the last 7 years and Elite-- don't get me started with how many problems that game had. Live/Elite will never rise again as long as 2k is involved. I don't think Jordan would back a game that isn't any good.
