What was with all the hit this button and that during boss battles etc?
I got half way through the first and can not bring myself to play it anymore it to me is not castlevania konami can any day put out the old side scrolling castlevanias and I will buy them the only side scroller of late which was also dissapointing a bit is harmony of despaire but thats only because it is baffeling
I Thought it was pretty good, and I played the previous games (including the 2d sidescrollers). The graphics are very good (which is not a reason to play of course), there are many unlockables, story is pretty nice, battle system is simple yet well executed and works fine, and you can clearly see the affect of Kojima Production in the game. Also, while many say the gameplay was a simple version of GOW, this game had this kind of gameplay since the n64. So, yes it was a great game. I would give it a clear 8.5-9.0

I thought it was a copy of Shadow of the Collosus with Castlevania as title...
I thought shadow of the collosus was great though so...
anyway ONTOPIC, I don't really see how they want to make a sequel because Gabriel turn into Dracula @ the end of 1.

You know, the gameplay has nothing to do with shadow of the colossus

yes it has. the boss fights were copied from soc.
-
Really, I played them both, but I thought Boss Fights of SOC were more epic and longer, in LOS, you just attack and dodge most of the time. But if you mean the bosses that you can climb on (like the one in the ice lake), yes you're right, it was just like SOC (I actually remembered it while writing). But the other bosses were just like any other hack'n slash action game bosses.

its an alright game , but lets face it ,its NOT castlevania, at all , and i didnt like the rather linear fashion of it either, i dont why they can never seem to make a good 3d cv game, there hasnt been one since the n64 titles imo ,though i never did plat the 2 ps2 titles , but they dont really look like cv either
