Anonymous hacks Sony Pictures for supporting SOPA

Sony Pictures has been hacked. But we should actually be saying hacked, again. In June last year SonyPictures.com was hacked and one million user accounts were compromised by the hacker group LulzSec, which also exposed the fact user passwords were stored in plain text. Then later that month Sony Pictures France was hacked by a student and his friend and 177,000 emails were stolen. All it took was a simple SQL injection to access the database.
2012 isn’t even a week old and yet again Sony Pictures has been targeted. This time it is at the hands of Anonymous who don’t appreciate the company’s support of the very unpopular Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) currently being considered by Congress in the US.
The hack saw access gained to both the Sony Pictures website and Facebook account where a number of comments were left. However, it looks as though Sony has now regained control and put things back to normal. That doesn’t mean this is the end of the attacks, though.
There is growing anger over SOPA by both online communities and some of the biggest tech companies. It is widely expected to do more harm than good to the technology sector as a whole. If a company supports SOPA, then they automatically become a target for one or more hacker groups. Reddit has also spearheaded action against certain companies, for example, GoDaddy has seen tens of thousands of domains moved away from its service in protest of its SOPA support.

Because the film-making arm SONY Picture Studios is an entirely different entity to the SONY that manufactures electronics. Yes, they're all part of the same umbrella group but sufficiently different enough to be targeted as a separate 'company'.
Videogame piracy pales into insignificance when compared to the supposed losses that studios and companies claim to suffer from film and TV downloads, so whilst one subsidiary of a company may shy away from the proposed SOPA law, another could back it to the hilt and that must be what's happening here.

The Anonymous group is no joke i see!

Thanks to anonymous we are winning in the battle against sopa.
Alot of the groups that were supporting Sopa are not against it.
