"Final Fantasy X" for PS3 and Vita May Be Full-On Remake?

A rumor has popped up today that the version of Final Fantasy X set to appear at some point on PS3 and PS Vita may be more than the mere graphics and sound remastering we previously assumed. Upon closer scrutiny, though, it appears this rumor may actually come down to sketchy translation.

Square Enix's Yoshinori Kitase supposedly told German magazine M! Games that the title would be a full-on remake, though details are notably hard to come by. Following a number of blogs through to their sources will lead eventually to several German sites, and Playstation Life Style notes "Kitase used the German term “neuauflage” to describe the game, which can be translated to mean “remake,” “new edition,” or “new issue.”

If that's all we're going by here, then I daresay a few people have jumped the gun; a "new edition" or "new issue" is hardly the same as a remake, so it looks like we'll have to wait for official word (in English!) before we jump to any more conclusions.

Read German? meh, how about "read Japanese" since Yoshinori Kitase speaks Japanese to a German press

As from what I heard and read, it's going to be a full remake. Everything will be remade with FFXIII engine, they won't change anyting about the scenario. Also the game will have extra content, but I don't have any information about the cgi cutscenes.

Everybody did. But I have another idea, instead of just adding new cgi, they should remake the 2D FF games. It would've been interesting. Of course along with the entire PS2 Jrpgs ever made :D

Now you can kill your father over and over again, in stunning HD If they come out with a FFX Edition Vita I may bite.

i think if you are going to do all that work, you might as well bang out a new game. they could easily write a new story. remakes for a game 10 years old? i guess it is good for new players, but i already finished this game,and i could never get that damn ultimate lightning weapon!

I agree, I would play the original game just with the higher resolution... Or you know what, screw it, I would even play it in native resolution, Square Enix Should make a completely new game, or they should make the Kingdom Hearts 3.

quare Enix's Yoshinori Kitase revealed that the Final Fantasy X HD Remake for PS3 and PS Vita is in early development. Rumors from the media also stated that remake will not be a simple HD Remaster version, instead the game run on the FFXIII game engine, all characters, scenes and summon aeons will be redrawn, and special effects in magic and other scenes will make use of the Luminous Engine, the Blitz Ball mini game will have some improvements; and the game will have Network support.

I've been dying waiting for it...
But i want some old FF that i havent played yet like FF3 or FF5 and FF6...
But FFX is also good, one of my favorite...
