Thread: ExpoLibre 2011: KaKaRoTo's Discussion on Open-source, Hacking and DRM

When I'm on my Twitter page, I see a lot of content and that's probably because I'm online on Twitter 24-7. One thing from my twitter feed which has caught my attention is one of KaKaRoTo's lectures. In the time between his 3.73 jailbreak and 4.00 jailbreak, KaKaRoTo went to Chile to do lectures and discussions about Open Source, Hacking and DRM. I found this interesting because he backs up solid arguments and gives people a reason to get started with programming and contribution.

KaKaRoTo teaches the core aspects of how to manage and construct a project and it works in his favour because he's very consistent with work and contributions in the PS3 development community. I wonder why Sony raged all out on GeoHot and not on Kakaroto too.I mean we all know what happened to GeoHot after successfully creating an otherOS exploit providing unauthorized access to the ps3 HDD.But Kakaroto gives interviews,has photos allowing him getting caught but Sony won't bother protect her 4.00OFW?Something smells fishy around here,and it sure ain't my perfume...

i think kakarotto actually answered it no his twitter, the reason is the country of residence and its laws,
i cant tell what law exactly was applied to Geohot but in Canada, where Kakarotto lives there isnt one like
that, or so he says(im not familiar with canada laws)

i heard it was because he announced that his is an anti piracy cfw? either its that, or he's working with sony -.-

kakaroto was served lawsuit papers.... most devs were when GH suit was going on. however, GH is the only one that went to court for some reason.
