    Graf_chokolo status update — not in jail


    Remember graf_chokolo? Well, according to Snowy, graf is actually not in jail. Unfortunately, there is no information as to why he has been so quiet about his situation.

    i really dont know why would he be in the jail,hacking ps3 for linux isnt a CRIME.IF sony sued him(like geohot) that's different but he cant go to jail under any circumstances for JUST hacking.

    an about why he is quiet:he just wanted linux in ps3 ,we have that ,his work is done so no reason for him to do anything and risk civil lawsuit

    well... you΄re totally wrong.

    breaching on security and (in easy language: ) reverse engineering for making custom firmware or software is a crime.
    graf is german, so he is under jurisdiction of german law. you can now use google and compare the §§ 108ff. UrhG (Urheberrechtsgesetz). The penalty goes up to one year imprisonment.

    This makes me so happy. Graf definitely didn't deserve to go to gaol and I'm so glad that he didn't. I still would've liked an update on his status, but it doesn't matter because he's still a free man.
