Thread: Update - PlayStation Network Down for Unknown Reasons

"The PlayStation Network has been down for almost the past 9 hours, without some maintenance announced. Users are finding themselves unable to log in to the PlayStation Network (again). Sony seems to be aware of the problem and posted an updated on their blog with the vague message "We're aware certain functions of PlayStation Network are down""

To further quote : "Sony promised an update on the situation as soon as it's available, only until now no word from Sony. When you try to login you see an error code but when you look up the error code, you get the above uninformative information from the Sony site."

"Is this another attack from Anonymous? or are this just unforeseen problems from Sony while blocking all the Rebug users on SP-INT? Maybe it's SkyNet after all it's now two days after Judgement day."

I think sony are doing this on purpose.

They are trying to prevent people on rebug CFW using sp-int and prod-qa from accessing the psn

Maybe they are trying to get users on their side. They implied that it may be an "attack", thus pinning users against hackers.

was on our local radio station today saying it was rumoured to be hackers would be nice if they reported on why hackers might be doing this then the public might understand

I know they changed the error code to "PSN is undergoing maitence right now" on my ps3 at least. lol now there's gonna be 9 pages in this thread like the other psn down thread.
