Thread: PS3 Hacking Progress

Geohot ain?t the only one hacking this bad boy. It?s evident JaicraB and Demonhades have made serious progress on hacking the PS3 too. From their blog: The Boot Loader and Hypervisor LV2 have been fully dumped. How? OtherOS and some hardcore hardware rig. For legal purposes we won?t host said dumps; however, they?re available at the linked blogs above.

What does this mean? Nothing really, well nothing for the average Joe anyway. The data dumps are mostly used for educational purposes. It may lead to something bigger, some day. But right now: it?s progress; solid progress. That?s all.

Yep, progress is always a plus. I really hope this leads us to a good hack someday

i think ps3 modding wont be popular once it happens because bluray burners are expensive and so are the discs and it wouldnt be worth it unless you play games alot but im only play them casual

think outside the disk. get a few tb of drive space and load the games from hdd.

yeah but imagine how long it will take for someone to upload a game, then you to download it, it would take the average person about a week with a 1-2 mb broadband connection

Maybe someone who hates Sony company will get a fast connection and upload it... and then you download it for week or two... idk... its good... its free...that time will pass... keep up with that hacking progress!

Ok guys this has been said many times before but I guess repeating it wont hurt.

Yes Blu-Ray disc are a bit more expensive than other disc but not by much and it still cheaper then the $60 you will spend on a regular disc.

Now with that out of the way.
It WILL NOT I repeat WILL NOT take long to DL PS3 games at the current time because at this point there isnt a single game that takes up the full storage of these Blu-Ray Disc. At most games are only 10GB to 13GB which will only take you a bit longer than it would take you to DL a 360 game. So with a fair connection at most it would only take you like 10hrs.

yes, true. but think about the blu-ray burner. they're pretty expensive
