Hopefully you'll be able to use a a usb hard drive or something like that.
Yea i agree, 1 blu-ray disc cost around 1$ each....
and i dont know about the burner...
I also agree about the bandwidth...
took me a 5hours to 7hours to download a ps2 game even if i have high speed internet... 10mb per sec..
probably it's gonna take 2 day to download a full version of ps3 games...
Gotta think though, it may cost alot to get the setup, but you could save a ton of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ in the long run. I've seen a few laptops with blueray burners that weren't more than $100.00 or so more than one that could jult play blueray. Since it is tax return time and I am in need of a new pc, I may go that rout and pick one up.

Remember though, not everyone has that fast of a speed.
But the thing is DSL will be so slow, Comcast has a 250GB capped. and Uploading will be slower than downloading. I agreed it will save you money in the long run but im not the type of guys to spend couple of 100's to burn games as well as patiently wait for it to be finish.
Unless you have crappiest internet ever, shouldnt take more then a day to download a ps3 game. I can download at about 6-7 gigs in an hour. Extracting it and burning it would take some time too but im sure it would all beat paying $60 for a game when u can pay $4 for a blank bluray.
im not getting my hopes up just yet but like with every new hack, it'll initially only be for the experienced modders, who (hopefully) would then be kind enough to dumb it way down for the rest of us. By the time this hack goes public, blu-ray might be even cheaper due to the emergence of red ray! So heres to hoping supply and demand works in our favour as it has done in the past..
Sony Investigating PlayStation 3 Hack Claims
Pirated software may soon be possible on Sony's system.
by Jim Reilly
January 25, 2010 - Noted iPhone hacker George Hotz wrote on this personal blog he has cracked Sony's PlayStation 3 console, a process, he says, that took him five weeks.
"I have read/write access to the entire system memory, and HV level access to the processor. In other words, I have hacked the PS3," he claims.
Since the console's release three years ago, hackers have been unsuccessful at cracking the PlayStation 3's strong security.
"It's supposed to be unhackable - but nothing is unhackable," Hotz told BBC News. "I can now do whatever I want with the system. It's like I've got an awesome new power - I'm just not sure how to wield it."
Holtz also said he is unwilling to reveal the exploit, saying it's "not really patchable," but Sony can make implementations much harder.
A Sony spokesperson said the company is investigating the report and would clarify the situation as more information becomes available.
