Not all of us have modded PS2s capable of playing burned games/backed up content >.> Setting up a library of say... 100+ ps2 titles in .iso format is far more convenient for me then rummaging for discs. Especially since they're smaller than PS3 games. (Looking at the USA disc collection C-D is only 189 games which expands to about 270gigs, the entire collection #-Z would probably fit on my external with a little room to spare.)

I have many home consoles, PS3(takes up the HDMI input), 360(takes the YPbPr input, mine doesn't have hdmi), Wii(needs the same YPbPr), PS2(same as Wii). I play them all from time to time, but usually I left Wii hooked up, since there were many games I wanted to play for it.
I sadly have only one TV which is capable of displaying games good(I have another, but it displays it all like sh!t).
That's why emulation of older home consoles like PS2 is preferrable for me if possible.
It'd be great if Vita could emulate PS2, I'd even buy that crap, but it can't.
Also, games for PS2 are only cheap if they are of your region, and I don't like games sold in my region. And as you may guess, imports are expensive. I did import about 10 or 12 PS2 games while it was still the only console I had, though.
Not everyone's the same, so I'd advise you consider that.

I disagree.yet there are still moments when games are glitchy on the emu or have some type of limitation on them. Happens with epsxe and definitely happens with the PS2 emulator. Emulating has it's advantages but it will never be perfect unless it's hardware based. Games on the original hardware will almost always be better.
ePSXe isn't an example, since in the PC Emulation world, we all know that there isn't any "perfect PS1 emulator", as weird as it may sound.
But you may know (or not) that ePSXe is now frequently updated.
Version 1.8.0 for computer is out, and version 1.8.3 on Android too, which clearly show us today that this emulator still need some work, and the ePSXe team is trying to do their best in order to avoid any issue or conflict users have encountered.
The pSX 1.13 was probably the most advanced PS1 emulator years ago, but some bugs are still on it, while the author disappeared with no explanation at all (rumors about his health or his job spread), and without releasing the 1.14 version, which was fixing some bugs and adding the PS2 emulation.
Some others team are trying to develop another emulator, such as PCSX Reloaded which is frequently updated, PSXJin, AdriPSX or the new no$psx.
The main problem on PS1 emulation Scene is probably the dozen of emulators that are being constantly updated, instead of focusing only on ONE emulator with a solid basis. This kind of organization can work for Super Nintendo or Game Boy, but when it comes to more advanced systems, it clearly doesn't work.
PS2 and GC/ Wii emulation scene show that focusing on one emulator give the best result.
We also have plenty of emulators of other systems which can run games perfectly (even better than the Original Hardware), such as Bsnes (from Byuu) for Super Nintendo (the 100% compatibility and "no issue" state was reached some months ago.), Visual Boy Advance for GBA, and much more.
We also have Dolphin which emulate perfectly almost 95% of GameCube & Wii games.
And finally, if you really tried PCSX2 latest version (available on emu-CR) on an optimized computer with many games, you'll know that this emulator run perfectly 95% of PS2 software, but of course, there is still some issues that the PCSX2 team is trying to solve.
In conclusion, many emulators, and therefore authors, have shown that emulation can achieve 100% perfection and can even be better than running on the actual hardware.
We just need to give them time to achieve a such perfection (it cannot be reached overnight. An obvious fact that still need to be said) and to thank them, instead of complaining over and over.
Sadly, SNES and PSX emulation is not to be compared to GameCube and PS2. For GC and PS2 you still need a PC with good specs, elso, no matter how good the emu is, it still won't allow you to run games fullspeed with good resolution/antialiasing.
