Default Class Action lawsuit for bricked ps3's from faulty update

Quoted from slashdot (my favorite source for news

"If Sony's recent 3.00 PS3 firmware update bricked your console, you may now have legal recourse thanks to a class action suit against Sony. The complaint alleges that thousands of users (PDF) were affected by the update, and in some cases the PS3 hardware itself was damaged. It continues, 'For owners who sustained hardware damage from the Sony-required update, Sony is charging a $150 repair fee per unit. Sony, responding to the numerous complaints about the unacceptable effects of the defective update, released a further, optional update that it claimed "improves system stability" ? yet performance problems continued, and the new update did nothing to remedy the systems of users who sustained hardware damage."'"
If you had your ps3 bricked from this update you are in this class action lawsuit aswell, so check it out.

    Lol!
Sony the self destructive game company.
First they kill off a cash machine like the ps2 then they try to kill off their new cash machine with faulty updates.
What next? Bad things come in threes.

Yea, I just bought a PS3 of of craigslist for $60 from a guy. He said that it just stopped playing his discs. So I thought well hmm, I could probably just clean the lens or something, so I bought it but that didn't work. So I did a little research and found allot of stuff about this firmware killing the blue ray drives in the consoles. Well, I looked at the firmware in the settings and sure enough it was 3.0. I updated to 3.1 but that didn't do anything. I can put a disk in there but I don't think it's even spinning. I took out the drive and cleaned the laser and nothing.

    Anybody know of a fix?
