Thread: CreatePS3EXTRA: A Tool to Create PS3_EXTRA structure for DLC PKGs, Patches, fixes

This is just a straight copy & paste job, I didn't see much point changing anything.
I tested it myself and can confirm it works perfect on windows 7.
I give it 10/10, It's a must have tool for anyone with dlc and updates.

A note for anyone having trouble with the pkg's not showing up on the xmb menu.
Make sure the PS3_EXTRA folder is located at the root of the game folder, Use multiman to launch the game you want to install the dlc/updates for, Then install the dlc/updates via the new disc icon on the xmb menu.

CreatePS3EXTRA.

It scans for the PKG, MP4 and P3T files copied to each game folder or its PS3_UPDATE folder, and store them under a PS3_EXTRA structure. When a game is mounted with multiMAN, there will be 2 BD icons on the XMB: one disc for the game itself and another with PKGs, MP4 and P3T. It should make it easier to install the game patches, DLC, fixes, and related videos.

Note:
The zip also includes a PS3RIP tool that should help you gain some space on your external HDD, removing unnecessary files. It actually moves the files to a RIPPED folder in the root of the disk and replace the file with a 0 byte file.

The included patterns should remove language files for many games except English and Spanish files. Always review the "RIPPED" folder before delete permanently any file.

The other tool included is renam.exe, if copied to the GAMES or GAMEZ folder, it will rename the sub-folders from BLUS0000-[Title] format to Title [BLUS0000]. This name format should make it easier to find the games.

These tools are Win32 and require the VB5 runtime DLL. XP users should have this already installed (if not, download & install the DLL).

LOL, It sounds like it could be a really useful tool.
If I understand it right, You can put all game update pkg's and add-ons pkg's into your game folders and have them show up on the xmb menu as a disc install.

Yas, But I Have This Tool On My CFW ( Proof Is I Made PS3_EXTRA.rar with my CFW (For FIFA12 in How To Play FIFA12 On Ex.HDD. in PS3 Tutorials Section) and I Upload it on MediaFire Here is The Link: PS3_EXTRA.rar So WTF With My Group!!!
