Thread: Fix TAR v3 PS3 Homebrew App for Retail and Debug 4.0 Firmware

Sorry for being quiet the last few days guys, but I'm still working on things for AC1D CFW and also found some changes to newer PUPs so I have modded the source of KaKaRoToKS Fix_TAR to reflect this in the Fix TAR v3 PS3 homebrew application for Retail and Debug 4.0 Firmware.

Also what Mathieulh has stated about the 3.55 / 3.56 tar owner id, owner and group is simply BS. It hasn't changed up to 3.72. Debug tar's have diff info but on 4.0 Retail/Debug it's the same.

There for i fixed the original source of fix_tar (owner id from 0001752 back to 0000644), modded a fix_tar_debug and modded a new fix_tar_v3 which also works on retail and debug fw.

Again:

fix_tar = retail fw up to 3.72
fix_tar_debug = debug fw up to 3.72(?)
fix_tar_v3 = retail and debug fw 4.0

wait....I haven't had my coffee yet, and I'm still slow. I just realized team ac1d are those douchebags that last week claimed they had this new rebug cfw, and all they did was adda column, theme and coldboot, then fluffed the list of features with ones that are already in rebug natively!!! I wanna know how they can claim they have homebrew not only installed, but running on 4.0 without the appldr keys and the algo!!

I don't care what this is....if they are claiming this app is signed for 4.0 and running, I want proof.....proof or it didn't happen!!!

Im guessing but aren't tar files like zip files, the tar files are found in the update.pup, when they are extracted and added to then repack they need to be fixed before they are packed again.
This is a developer tool, this does not run on the ps3 it self, but i would think in windows or linux, to be used on the newer firmwares

If i'm wrong and someone know's please correct me
