Thread: Help set up my gaming desktop

Hi guys,

i just need a help in my gaming desktop, i decided ill go for my desktop before ill buy my own ps3 because of my job that involves computer.


I would like also play games in high settings, high resolution, etc. My games i want to play are Migh and magic 6, shogun 2, the upcoming diablo 3. I want my desktop can play this games without lagging , even it has many units like shogun 2.


Here`s what I have in my mind.

is this video card ok? AMD radeon HD 6990, i mean is this worth it?
or GeForce GTX 590--- which are cheaper on the two? or what can you recommend?

and for the processor is this ok fx 8150 bulldozer or the i5 2500k?

and what motherboard that is compatible to get this stuff working? i would really like the ASUS motherboards, but feel free to suggest, this is what Im looking for .

and as for power supply should I get a cheap PSU that has a 750w-1000w and has two 8 pins or should i get a brand or named ones?

and about the casing, the available here is the antec full tower case.

by the way, Im from philippines and my budget is around 50k-65k PHP, what would be around 1100-1500 USD

is it ok just to have 8g of ram?,

don't go for bulldozer. you save $80 on buying the product but it takes way more power to run.
