Default need help with wirelss N speed

I have windows 7 sharing file to my iomega media play using wireless. I have a wireless router using only 801.11n and my iomega media also using a wireless N USB adapter. I can view and play video fine, but when i transfer movie from my pc to the internal iomega media hdd, the max speed i get is 1mb, with wireless N shouldn't i get more than that?

    sorry for the double post.
but if something that is less than 802.11n on the network the whole network goes at that speed.(b speed if something operates on 802.11b)
