Thread: bios flash on a powerspec 4988

Have you tried to re download and reflash the bios? Are you sure it's version 2.3 and not 7x?

yes its for version 2.3 and every time i turn the pc on its says disk boot falure then when i restart it it boots fine can someone help please i dont have the origanal bios file for it

It turns out that I do not have that one. I did do a pretty exhaustive search for an alternate bios, but I don't have any to recommend. Have you tried re-downloading and reflashing the bios? I notice that your board is a sata 1.0. If you have recently changed the HDD, it could be a 2.0.
If it were to come in to the shop, I would first reflash the bios. If that failed I would jumper the sata drive (from 2.0 speed to 1.0) I would do this because when you boot it it gives the error, but not on reboot. This would indicate that the drive doesn't have enough time to spin up to proper speed before it fails.
Unfortunately I don't have one in front of me to test, but I am pretty good at my job and I am willing to help you in any way I can. Look into those two and let me know. (It is a very common mistake to look at a step and say 'tried it already' and just dismiss it. Even if you have tried these before, please try them again before telling me they failed.)

thanks i fixed the error what i did was i reflashed the bios from a different site that had a old bios update so i flashed it then went back to my updated one now it works fine thanks for searching around for me really appreciate it thanks.
