Default My new toy but i need some help!!!!

my new toy, acer aspire 5935g. really nice laptop but i have hit a few problems.
    1. when i got the laptop it had windows 7 home on it so i installed windows 7 ultimate 64bit. this meant i had to re install all the software. when i installed the fingerprint software it set a bios password, but it didnt tell me what the password was. does anyone know how to find this password, or reset the password?
i know about the jumper option and the cmos battery option, but i would rather not take it apart!

    2. the laptop has a ati mobility radeon hd 4570 1756mb graphics card. when i look up the graphics card in device manager i cannot update the drivers for it. instead i get a warning in properties this device cannot start (code 10).

i have tried to get the drivers from ati and acer but i have still not been able to get it to work. i have tried also using a modder to get the drivers to work but i have still not managed to get it going.

has anyone got any ideas as to a fix for either or both my problems?????

    thanks everyone!

The answer to question 1 is that you have to short the bios pins. This is a link to a pdf service manual, page 40 has a picture (the page with the number 40 on it, might be the 50th page of the pdf)

    2) short answer is that there just isn't a good driver made. If you have the dual boot video option in the bios, set it to ONLY the onboard and then install the driver.

will try the pins when i have had the laptop a few days.

i have also tried to disable onboard in device manager, but that didnt fix it neither.

im starting to think i have made a bad choice in laptop, atleast as far as the drivers go. the leds on the front dont work and the subwoofer does not work.........or maybe im just being fussy.

does anyone think vista might fix my problem?

beleive it or not but vista fixed it. vista installed the ati drivers and installed figerprint software with the option of me setting the bios password!

all these years and i have bought laptops with vista on but they could not run vista. i buy a windows 7 laptop to find the laptop was made for vista!!!
