not sure but maybe you can check " Always Transcode DTS" in config in mkv2vob. You need to check that box or you will have no sound if your movie has DTS as its main audio.

Ok here are the facts and the little knowledge I have gather.

    1. cinavia is a new protection that help fight piracy.

    2. This protection is not any ordinary protection that can be removed by software such as AnyDVD HD or DVDFab HD.

    3. It is embeded in the audio track so it can't be removed.

I've recently been getting some movies know to have cinavia Salt, The other guys, and Resident Evil Afterlife. I've also read reports on people not getting cinavia thru the use of optical digital cable. I played RE afterlife and at the 20 minute mark i got the cinavia pop-up. using HDMI cable for audio, now after this i plugged the optical to my ps3 and did some tweaks to my audio set up as described below.

    1. Plug Optical Digital cable to PS3 straight to the TV output.

    2. Go to settings and down to sound settings.

    3. select Audio Output Settings, select Optical Digital it will ask you to select an output format tick all options when you hit right on d-pad it will tell you that if the device does not support the speaker may be damaged hit ok, now hit X to save.

    4. you will be back at the first page for audio settings, if you tv has the volume on which i think it will after you come back here and go down it will not have any sound, go down to Audio Multi-Output and click it, it will have 2 option off/on, select on now you will get a msg telling you about restriction's and downscaling hit ok, now your tv will have sound go, to video all movies i have tested have been on my HDD.

    5. select movie with cinavia protection play from beginning and watch the movie with out a hitch.

I have tested this on 5 PS3's and all have gone smoothly, please do let other's and myself know if it worked for you. hopefully this won't get to sony and they removed the optical digital option on the next update.

    this worked for me.

optical cables are cheap, as for a receiver if your tv has an optical input you can use that, most lcd or plasma tv's have an optical input.

sorry if that didn't help, it's the only way i know

Why in gods name would a topic that is clearly meant to be in PC/Windows Tech Support be posted in PS3 General Chat?
mkv2vob and mkvmerge CAN NOT be run on a PS3.
